The Scarab Paper & Craft Centre is in the main building at Scarab Village with its variety of high-quality and unique crafts.

The shop is run by Rita and André Knoetze. Rita, the resident artist at Scarab Village, has established her studio on the mezzanine floor in the shop where she produces oil paintings and new wildlife designs for the shop.

A unique article in the art shop is Scarab’s hand-produced paper made with elephant dung to add interest and texture to recycled paper.

In the Scarab Paper workshop you can see how the paper is made from the raw materials and how the printing of wildlife paintings by local well-known artists is done on the paper using the old Heidelberg printing press, the original model dating back to 1860.

The recycled paper products, made in the Scarab Paper workshop at the Village, are for sale in the Art Centre.
